Mission to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in some villages in the Punjab area of Pakistan 12/02/06 to 20/02/06

We arrived in Lahore, Pakistan on 13th February 2006 at 03.00hrs Pakistan time and went to stay at Pastor Munawar Fazal's house in the Kotlakphat area. We had about 3 hours sleep and then were woken up to start our journey in a bench seat Mazda minibus.
After meeting with a few old friends we finally departed at about 11.00hrs and went to a village, we were late arriving because of a puncture. At this village they made bricks.(picures 1-3). I preached and we prayed for people and minstered to them. They were very pleased to see us, they have never been visited by a white preacher before. Afterwards, we set off towards Sahiwal and when we arrived there had a meal in a Restaurant and then it was decided that we should stay in a hotel in Sahiwal for the night due to tiredness.
The next morning we set out early to travel on to the places where we going to Minister. The distance was about 200km and took several hours. The town we arrived at is Jahanin near the large city of Multan, where we stayed with Pastor Munawar's Uncle. We then went straight back out again to a village number 123, where there was no Pastor, but the people were eager to hear the Word of God.
This was where a boy who could not move his arm was prayed for and it was reported he could a few minutes later.
We had a second meeting in the evening after dark in another place local to Jahanin which was well attended like the one at village 123. At both these meetings on 14th February a lot of people became Christians or rededicated their lives to the Lord.(pictures 4 and 5)
The next day Wednesday 15th February, the first meeting was at a small village near Multan where the people were very poor, a lot came forward for prayer and gave their lives to Jesus Christ
The second meeting was at a village called Shangrihai, where last year the muslims had burnt some of the Christians houses. Peace had been re-established and re-building had begun. I preached on Shadrach, Meshack and Abednego. I tried to encourage them that the Lord would be with them and protect them in every circumstance. The Church did have a Pastor, fewer people came forward for prayer.
The third meeting was in Khenewal in the open air after dark, after the preaching on Mark 2, 15 people gave their lives to Jesus Christ. We had to leave quickly afterwards due to the late hour.
The next day Thursday 16th , we left to return to Lahore, the journey took 7hours  ,we stopped off for a meal at the same place at Sahiwal for a mealbreak on the way.
On Friday 17th there were problems because of trouble over the cartoons, but we managed to get transport-a rickshaw to go to a meeting in the evening 25 minutes from Munawar's house. This was again well attended, i preached on Mark 2, Psalm 91 and once again there salvation decisions and people prayed for to be healed. I took a DVD on a camcorder of this meeting, which came out well.
On Sunday we held some meetings with Tariq and his wife Rachel (Fazal), Anwar's sister . The morning one was in a Christian area in Lahore in a building which was not complete, we also filmed this and took pictures. I preached on Mark 2 and again gave an altar call at the end and  there was a good response to both salvation and healing prayer. We spent the rest of the day at Rachel and Tariqs house and went to the largest meeting so far, in the evening.
This meeting was held in a hall and was attended by about 800 people. I preached and Tariq interpreted. At least half the congregation responded to the altar call, but because of the sheer numbers and lack of time, me and Pastor Robert, a good friend of mine prayed a general prayer for all of them. Sister Esther Fazal came to the meeting with us as well.(pictures 6-8)
We then returned to Pastor Munawar's house after having a meal.
On arrival at Munawar's house, we noticed that a wedding was taking place across the road, so we asked if we could watch. Better than that they invited us in and allowed us to film it with the remainder of the DVD.This is a good example of the friendliness of the Pakistani people.
